G-Power Brings Supercharged BMW Z4

G-Power Tuned BMW Z4 3.0i Photo A 300 km/h top speed, 0-100 km/h in just 4,9 seconds, 375 hp and an engine's peak torque of 420 Nm: These are the characteristics of the latest G-POWER development for the BMW Z4 3.0i. In addition to the increase in power output of 144 hp for the 6- cylinder engine, that normally produces 231 hp, the G-POWER offers a complete tuning program for the Bavarian roadster consisting of: Aerodynamic body kit, light-alloy wheels, suspension modifications, high-performance brake system and exclusive interior components.

G-POWER offers superchargers system for increased power output looking back on 25 years of experience in tuning BMW automobiles. The new G-POWER EVO III supercharger system is an evolution, based on the well known systems for the Z4 2,2 to 3,0 l six- cylinder engines of the BMW Z4. Its core is an ASA T1-12 supercharger from the all new "black-line" edition that features ceramic ball bearings for an increased rpm limit of the charger. Accordingly the boost rises to a higher pick of 0,6 bar rel. , which is cooled down by a large air-to-air intercooler and controlled by an Dual Flow bypass system. To keep the oil temperatures at level the G-POWER EVO III system is equipped with a thermostat controlled oil cooler, that prevents the ASA supercharger from overheating. On the exhaust side the G-POWER EVO III system features a complete exhaust system with racing-headers and catalysts. This measure optimizes power yield, throttle response and also ensures the engine's thermal health. Specially developed mapping for engine electronics coordinate the perfect interaction of all new components.

The results of the G-POWER treatment are impressive: With 375 hp at 6.450 rpm and 420 Nm torque at 4.650 rpm the standard 231 hp strong BMW Z4 3.0i becomes a true eli"M"inator. With a sprint time from rest to 100 km/h of 4.9 seconds and to 200 km/h in 15,1 seconds the G-POWER G4 is at level with the BMW Z4M and finally outruns it with a top speed of 300-km/h. The conversion of the standard engine to the G-POWER EVO III configuration is 18,850,00 Euro including the installation; which can only be done at our headquarters' workshop in Autenzell Bavaria.

The BMW 730d sets a new benchmark in terms of drivetrain performance. The new all-aluminium 3.0-litre straight-six cylinder diesel engine produces 245hp at 4,000rpm. Its effortless real world driving smoothness comes courtesy of a peak torque figure of 540Nm attained from 1,750rpm through to 3,000rpm.

The 2,993cc powerplant posts the lowest ever CO2 figure of any previous BMW 7 Series and it is also the most economical 7 Series ever. Its 192g/km emission figure is class-leading for conventionally powered luxury cars, while no other competitor comes close to its 39.2mpg combined consumption figure. It can accelerate from zero to 62mph in 7.2 seconds and has a 153mph top speed.

To put the BMW 730d's competitive advantage in context this luxurious vehicle records near identical fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to the Mercedes C320CDi – a car that is two market segments below the 7 Series and is smaller and lighter than the BMW.

The impressive performance of the 730d is, in part, possible due to third-generation common-rail direct injection technology, incorporating piezo injectors, that operates at a peak pressure of 1,800 bar. This system ensures a near perfect combustion process. Weighing 185kgs the new six-cylinder diesel engine is also 5kgs lighter than its predecessor.

The BMW 730d is set to be the biggest seller in the UK, accounting for approximately 85 per cent of sales.

The BMW 750i and 750Li are the range flagships. The new 4,395cc V8 engine from the recently launched X6, featuring twin-turbochargers and high-precision direct injection technology, produces 407hp from 5,500rpm to 6,400rpm; impressive figures that are backed up by an equally stunning 600Nm of torque from 1,750rpm to 4,500rpm. Such breathtaking performance sees the BMW 750i accelerate from zero to 62mph in 5.2 seconds (5.3 seconds for the 750Li) before going on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. Consumption on the combined cycle is 24.8mpg, while CO2 emissions equate to 266g/km.

The all-aluminium V8 engine powering the 750i and 750Li also features its own world first - twin-turbochargers and catalysts that are placed within the V-space of the engine block. This not only optimises packaging but the reduction in manifold length and larger cross sections mean the engine breathes better for enhanced performance. Double-VANOS variable valve technology and high-precision direct injection technology further aid engine performance to the degree that all the innovations combine to offer a V8 engine that has an equivalent output of a traditional 12-cylinder unit.

Aimed at customers who prefer the characteristics of a petrol-powered BMW six-cylinder engine, the BMW 740i and 740Li are also offered. Using an internationally-acclaimed 2,979cc powerplant, the BMW 740i musters 326hp and 450Nm of torque for rapid yet serene performance. The twin-turbocharged engine features high-precision direct injection and Double-VANOS variable valve technology to achieve optimum performance. The car accelerates from zero to 62mph in 5.9 seconds (6.0 seconds for the 740Li) before going on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. The 3.0-litre BMW 740i and 740Li post combined fuel consumption figures of 28.5mpg and 28.2mpg respectively, while returning emissions figures of 232g/km and 235g/km.

All BMW 7 Series models come with a six-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

Saleen Announce Its Racecraft Brand With Launch Of 420S.Mustang

Racecraft 420S Mustang Photo
Yesterday Saleen Incorporated, America's premiere niche vehicle manufacturer, announced the promotion of its newest performance vehicle brand, Racecraft. "The Racecraft moniker has been synonymous with Saleen performance since the first Saleen Mustang, "said Saleen Automotive General Manager, Marques McCammon.
"Racecraft is a brand that our enthusiasts know as the secret sauce in Saleen suspensions, now that brand name will grow to encompass a full line of exciting performance vehicles."

The Brand
The Racecraft brand will provide consumers with:
· Value that the market can touch
· A ready canvas for customization
· Business first styling that puts go before show

"This formula is one of legitimate performance that you can see, hear, and feel. It just seemed a natural for us to say that Racecraft will 'Power Your Senses' ", said McCammon.

The Product
Racecraft model nomenclature is a reflection of vehicle horsepower. Thus the first model in the lineup, the base Mustang, 420S features 420 Horsepower Supercharged V8 engine. Each Racecraft vehicle will also feature the signature Racecraft suspension, Bridgestone performance tires, light weight aluminum alloy wheels, race inspired graphics and signature interior accents. The design formula is understated, leaving room for the enthusiast to explore their own expression of style and performance through Saleen's SpeedLab performance parts division. All of this is wrapped in a 3 year 36,000 mile factory warranty.

Customization
"Racecraft and SpeedLab is the perfect marriage," says SpeedLab General Manager, Michael Lingo. "The vehicles are dynamically superior right out of the box, but my team is always ready to take performance to the next level. It is a perfect combination, and the winner is the consumer."

Among the SpeedLab offerings, consumers will find the ability to upgrade the performance of their vehicles to up 475 horsepower without violating their factory warranty. Many other components will allow the Racecraft owner to explore further expressions in power, style, and handling to help make their Racecraft an unique expression of their performance personality.

The Value
Value is a key cornerstone of this new brand. This is evident in the sub-$40,000 price point of the 420 horsepower 420S that includes transportation and applicable federal taxes. What's more, the consumer will find many of the offerings from SpeedLab priced at or below $1000.

This type of value will be found in each Racecraft branded vehicle that executives say will begin hitting the market later this year. "There are many customers out there who want to experience extreme performance reasonably priced; we designed the Racecraft brand with this buyer in mind, says McCammon.

More to come
Speculation that Racecraft will replace the Saleen brand is completely false. Racecraft is actually intended as the entry point of the Saleen performance enthusiast. The 420S is just the first offering from the new brand. Saleen executives contend that the brand will follow with more products that fit. "Consumers should expect to see the next Racecraft model as early as the fall", said Product Planning Director, Julie Zona. The Racecraft 420S provides the power enthusiasts require behind the wheel and the control needed for unyielding performance.

RaceCraft 420S Mustang features:
· Racecraft 4.6L SOHC Supercharged V-8
